Rogers, 25, has shown flashes of brilliance in his young career, earning All-Star honors in 2021. However, injuries limited his effectiveness in 2023, as he missed significant time due to a lat strain.

Deal Details

The Orioles sent a package of prospects, including outfielder Darell Hernaiz, to Miami in exchange for Rogers. The deal was finalized just before the Major League Baseball trade deadline on Tuesday.

The addition of Rogers gives the Orioles a much-needed boost to their starting rotation. The team has struggled to find consistency on the mound this season, with their rotation posting a combined 4.56 ERA.
